Global Focus Shifts to Circular Economy as Textiles Recycling Expo USA Set to Debut in 2026

A new chapter in sustainable fashion is poised to unfold as AMI announces the launch of the Textiles Recycling Expo USA, scheduled for April 29-30, 2026 at the Charlotte Convention Center in North Carolina. Following the resounding success of its European debut in Brussels, which hosted 126 exhibitors and over 3,300 visitors from 67 nations, this expo is now headed to American soil with a mission to tackle one of fashion's most urgent challenges textile waste.

With more than 10 million tons of textiles discarded annually in the U.S. and only a fraction being recycled, the event aims to catalyze industry-wide change. The expo will serve as a vibrant platform for innovators, manufacturers, recyclers, policymakers, and investors to explore breakthroughs in textile reuse, clothing recovery, fibre innovation, and non-woven recycling.

Event Manager Zied Chetoui noted that feedback from U.S. participants in the European edition revealed strong demand for a similar initiative stateside. Charlotte was chosen strategically, given its legacy in textile manufacturing and its growing ecosystem in research and recycling.

Attendees can expect a rich experience featuring an expansive exhibition hall, dynamic conference sessions, and insightful discussions on regulatory shifts, supply chain strategy, and sustainable investment. AMI, which already commands leadership in industrial expos through its Plastics World Expos, brings this experience to build what could become North America’s most significant forum for textile recycling.

This event seeks to not only share knowledge but also to sew together a stronger, greener future for fashion through collaboration and innovation.
